One of the most popular cities in Sicily and also one of my favorites (Palermo with Palermo). Taormina receives a lot of tourists in high season, mainly from buy Pregabalin online uk julho a agosto, which period is recommended to avoid. The low season, http://sph.ba/novosti novembro a março it is also not the best time to get to know Taormina, as many establishments close their doors until they start moving again.

I was there at the end of September and found a great weather. It was 2 full days in the city, one to explore http://towing-whittier.com/forum/viewtopic.php?page=sofa-prediction-0f1283 Taormina and one more to unveil the http://calauctioncompany.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http://calauctioncompany.com/wp-admin/post.php Monte Etna, enough.

The advantage of sleeping there is having the opportunity to walk around the city at night, which seems to be turning into another place. Lively, at every corner we find a restaurant with live music, difficult to choose just one.

Taormina Attractions

Greek Theater of Taormina

Greek Theater of Taormina

The most important attraction in the city and therefore the recommendation is the same as always, arrive early! THE Teatro Grego de Taormina it is suspended between the sky and the sea, an inexplicable thing. Its excellent state of conservation allows us to go back in time and feel part of it all.

Built in III BC it is considered the Greek theater with the most spectacular location in the world, I agree! Explore this little piece of Taormina with a lot of calm and tranquility, climb all the steps of the theater, the view from above can be even more surprising than the one below.

In summer festivals take place, so it is possible that the place is full of modern structures on your visit.

Taormina

Corso Umberto

The main street of the city, with a pedestrian crossing should be your focus once you leave the Greek Theater. Walk to the end, but don't let the picturesque alleys that appear along the way escape you. They have already become an attraction of the city and each one has its own identity, art has taken over these alleys. If you need to, face a short line to get a souvenir of the city in photo format. Advance, it's worth it!

Corso Umberto

O Corso Umberto it is the kind of place that I would spend days walking to be able to absorb as much of the cool thing that is there. A fact that there is that tourist side, souvenir shops made in china, that discourages any traveler. But there are also many options for local artists' stores, ranging from simple handicrafts to art galleries.

Walk to Piazza IX Aprile and enjoy the view and the moment. A little more walk and you will reach the Piazza del Duomo, here we are almost at the end of Corso Umberto and a good tip is to go back and enjoy the other side of the street. I told you, there is so much to appreciate that we even get lost.

Villa Comunale is a pleasant park of tropical plants. Hidden between one alley and another, the site is an old residence of an English noblewoman, Lady Florence Trevelyan, cousin of Queen Victoria. The park was designed by Lady Florence herself, to be a typical English garden.

Full of rare plants and a unique view. The park is an excellent choice for those who want to relax from the busy Corso Umberto or enjoy fresh air with a view of the Ionian Sea. Not bad right?

Castelmola

Castelmola is already another Sicilian village, if you have the time it deserves your visit.

It is just 6km from Taormina and you can go walking (1hr) remember that we are at the top of a hill. Other options to get there are: car, public transport and even excursion.

The village is just above Taormina and the view is even more beautiful. Castelmola it is very pititic, we went up there to watch the sunset and the tour lasted just over an hour.

Once there, we went straight up to the ruins of the Castle of Mola, I missed a bottle of sparkling wine to enjoy the moment in style (so, here's the tip). As soon as the sun went down we went down to the village again and explored the few alleys that existed there.

Not unlike Taormina, we fall in love with the stone alleys and typical Sicilian decoration on the walls of the shops. We arrived at a beautiful little square full of restaurants and bars that invited us for that good old drink at the end of the night. How to deny?

Funivia

As I said, Taormina is at the top of a hill, so if you want to go down to the beach, I recommend taking the funivia. Or if you arrived in Taormina by train, you will probably need funivia to reach the top, unless you are willing to climb everything on foot.

We used funivia only one day, in order to get to know the beach and have lunch there with the breeze hitting our faces.

Beach

A typical beach restaurant, people with bathing suits having lunch, a simple home-made service with no frills. However, the best meal of the trip. 15 days in Sicily, and it was in Barcaiolo that I tasted the best pasta with seafood. It was sensational! We called the same day in the morning to make the reservation, I recommend.

Barcaiolo Restaurant

As the goal was to have lunch, we were not prepared to stay on the beach, and I confess that we were not even interested in that day. We only wet our feet and enjoyed the beauty of the green sea and went back to the city.

If you are interested in enjoying the beach, I recommend that you look for a walk to the Isola Bela, a small island that is practically in front of the funivia.

Where to eat

In addition to Barcaiolo, seriously, I highly recommend it, I tried two more restaurants over there that are worth the tip.

Ristorante Baronessa

Ristorante Baronessa

As soon as we arrived in Taormina we went to dinner in Baronessa, by a referral from a specialist friend in Italy. Although I thought the price was high, the food was divine and the service was very good. The view from the restaurant was a special case, a panoramic window overlooking the sea and that breeze that made our night even more special.

Pistachio is one of the traditional ingredients of Sicily, I had no doubts when choosing a white sauce with pistachio shavings.

Pizzeria Villa Zuccaro

After returning from our tour of Mount Etna, we opted for a traditional Italian pizza. At the recommendation of Trip Advisor, we fell into Pizzeria Villa Zuccaro. I don't like it very much when the menu is vast and the options seem to me one better than the other, I feel confused and have difficulties to choose, Villa Zuccaro is like that. But I believe that there is no bad choice, our pizza was delicious.

The restaurant is large, just like most restaurants in Europe, there are not hundreds of attendants, so I recommend you go patiently. The service can take a while, once you ordered the pizza, it arrives quickly. 😉

Taormina

The city of Taormina is considered one of the most expensive in Sicily, but spending a night there can be very pleasant.

Where to stay

Villa Fioriata - this was our choice. Close to the funivia, a little further away from the Corso Umberto, and close enough to walk to all the other attractions mentioned the hotel fell like a glove to leave the car in the parking lot and enjoy the city. The hotel is charming, but it is not accessible, even if they help you with your bags it is necessary to go up and down between the rooms and the breakfast room, main balcony, bar and pool.

Villa Fioriata

If this is not a problem for you, the spacious room with a sea view and the excellent service from Villa Fioriata will be a great choice for your stay in Taormina.

La Pensione Svizzera - on the same street as the previous hotel we find a more classic hotel. A pleasant living space with panoramic views of the sea. Also with parking option.

Hotel Isabella - the classic Isabella hotel is located in the city center, in Corso Uberto and offers a restaurant with a balcony overlooking the sea. The hotel offers a roundtrip transfer to the beach, as well as private space on site.

Jonic Hotel Mazzarò - Another option is to stay by the sea, and you can find options with more affordable prices. The Jonic Hotel Mazzarò faces the beach with a view of Isola Bela.

B&B Villa Antonio - this is also a lodging option by the sea. B&B Villa Antonio is also close to Isola Bella with rooms and a terrace overlooking the sea.
